Rampage take to the road seeking first win of the season
As the the Rampage head into Terrace for the Saturday night showdown, they'll be working to address some of the on ice breakdowns that have left them on the wrong side of the won-lost ledger thus far.
The Rampage suffered a third period of woes in their season opener with Quesnel, a game which saw the visitors make an impressive third period comeback to take two points out of the Jim.
Last week, a hard fought match with Kitimat ended in disappointment for the home fans, with the visiting team going home victorious, as the Ice Demons topped Prince Rupert by a score of 3-1.
The Rampage enter week number of three of the CIHL season, having learned lessons from their previous efforts and determined in making Saturday night, a less than happy one for the River King fan base.
For the River Kings, Saturday will provide them with an opportunity to see if their message of the need for support is being heard in the community.
In the run up to the CIHL season, much was made of the state of the River Kings franchise and the need for larger crowds to be in attendance.
Their successful home opening win last week against Williams Lake, attracted a healthy crowd of 600 on Saturday. Followed by a smaller gathering of 300 on Sunday who took in a loss in the second of the back to back games.
That Saturday night win placed the River Kings in the middle of the pack in the West division, holding down third place entering week three, four points behind the division leading Ice Demons.
Considering the rivalry between the Rampage and River Kings of the last few seasons, the Terrace squad no doubt is hoping for a repeat of the last weeks Saturday like numbers in the stands, by the time they drop the puck.
Tomorrow's game marks the first of two road games to wrap up October for the Rampage, next weekend Prince Rupert travels to Houston for Saturday and Sunday games against the Luckies.
They return to the friendly confines of the Jim Cicccone Civic Centre in November, when Kitimat returns to town on Saturday, November 2nd.
For those travelling to Terrace Saturday, puck drop at the Terrace Arena is 8 PM.
