UBCM Resolution Checklist: How the Northwest fared at the convention

When municipal politicians wrapped up their one week convention at UBCM  last Friday, some came home with a bit more to be pleased about than others, with the final days of the local government get together given over to a lengthy list of resolutions.

This week UBCM released the list of all resolutions that were considered at the 2019 convention, offering an opportunity for residents of the Northwest to see what success their communities had realized after the five days of convention attendance.

And while neither the City of Prince Rupert, or District of Port Edward had stand alone resolutions to make note of this year; there were some resolutions offered from North Coast Regional District, as well as Kitimat-Stikine Regional District and Bulkley Nechako.

Individually, the City of Terrace, as well as towns of Smithers, Telkwa, Burns Lake and Houston also had resolution proposals up for consideration.

Those resolutions that were endorsed at the convention will be forwarded to the provincial government for further review and potential action, while the UBCM executive will look at others that perhaps need a bit more work before they are taken to Provincial officials.

We previewed the Northwest Agenda back on August 14th,  so today we'll explore how it all turned out for the Northwest issues of note:

North Coast Regional District, two resolutions of note:
