COVID Exposure brings a temporary closure for the Prince Rupert Library

Patrons with overdue materials are getting a break, but regular users of the Prince Rupert Public Library are going to see a disruption to their routine.

That as a recent COVID-19 exposure means that the Sixth Avenue facility is now Closed to the Public.

The short information note was posted to the Prince Rupert Library's Facebook page over the weekend.

Chief Librarian Joe Zelwietro provided some additional background with a follow up entry on the Social Media platform, noting that the exposure is considered a low risk situation, though with few indications as to how long the Library will remain closed.

Patrons are asked to keep any items that they have borrowed at their homes, until when the Library reopens to the public.

Updates on the status of the Library will be provided through their Facebook page or Library website.

So far the City of Prince Rupert has provided no further guidance on the situation through any of their information options.
