There will soon be some increased activity along the western side of the Prince Rupert waterfront as Wolverine Terminals begins the active construction phase for their Prince Rupert Marine Fuels Project.
An update on the Wolverine Terminals website outlines the path ahead, with mobilization and initiation of construction activities in Prince Rupert scheduled to get underway this week in the city, with work taking place at the Wolverine site located between the BC Ferry Terminal and the Pinnacle Pellet Terminal.
In their notes, Wolverine notes that the pile driving work which will signal the start of the project will be conducted by Vancouver Pile Driving which will be the major contractor for the the construction of the morning facility.
As that work gets underway in Prince Rupert, across the Pacific the Damen Shipyards in Vietnam are constructing the fuelling vessels that will transit to and from the Wolverine facility to service the range of ships that call on the Prince Rupert Port Authority facilities.
Wolverine Terminals anticipates operations for their Prince Rupert facility will get underway in early 2023.
