For the first time in a few years, the musicians of School District 52 will be showcasing their skills, as the Prince Rupert School District hosts the 2021 Band Concert, a Holiday tradition that was sidelined for a bit owing to COVID.
Finally after a few years of waiting, audiences can return to the Lester Centre of the Arts to take in the sounds of the season and much more.
The Sunday event sent for a 2PM start will bring together the musical programs from both Prince Rupert Middle School and Charles Hays Secondary, as Kristy Tillman and Daniel Sim set the scene for the afternoon of music.
The SD52 programs run from Grade 5 up to Grade 12 and feature a range of musical stylings for students to explore and audiences to enjoy.
For Sunday's Showcase of talent, Ms. Tilman will be leading the collective from the elementary schools and Prince Rupert Middle School, while Mr. Sim will be taking the high school concert and Jazz bands through their selections.
Yesterday the Lester Centre noted that the capacity limits under the COVID protocols had been met and no other admissions will be allowed for the Sunday event.
Those in attendance are asked to make a donation at the door as they arrive.
