Third Avenue West this morning |
No doubt more than a few residents of Prince Rupert and area are wondering "Where is the Rain" as a forecast of up to 25 mm of rain for overnight instead delivered a few centimetres of snow, with a potential for more before the temperatures warm up.
The skiff of frozen precipitation made for some slick roads around the city for the early morning period as City Crews and the Ministry of Transportation contractor took to the main thoroughfares to plow and sand.

Some of the streetscape following this morning's dusting of snow |
Still many side streets are still pristine landscapes of new snow and navigating some of th the hills in the city is a bit of a challenge, though caution on the roads can alleviate some of the more concerning elements.
The snow almost serves as a helpful reminder to a call from Councillor Barry Cuningham earlier this week for the need of property owners in the downtown area to attend to their required snow clearing mission as laid out in the City's Snow removal bylaws.
For those travelling out of the city this morning things are a bit more challenging towards Terrace with Compact Snow the main feature of the highway conditions for the morning.

As for the weather ahead, while Rain is still promised with a large volume anticipated for Friday, keep the shovels, salt and ice melt handy, Snow is also a possibility through the next seven days.
