Nisga'a Lisims Government Council of Elders swears in Board members for Nisga'a Administrative Review Board

The Nisga'a Lisims Government has announced the official taking on of duties for the Nisga'a Administrative Review Board, with Board members sworn into office on Wednesday as part of the Executive Meeting.

Taking up their duties yesterday (and seen in the photo above) were David Griffin, Chairperson, Phyliss Alexcess, Board Member and Farley Stewart, Board member, also on the board but not available for the photo was Ed McMillan Board Member.

The function of the Board, as explained by the Nisga'a Lisims Government is as follows:

The NADRB is a Nisga’a Public Institution established by Nisga’a Lisims Government under the Nisga’a Administrative Decisions Review Act (the “Act”). It plays an important function, required by the Nisga’a Constitution, of reviewing certain administrative decisions made by Nisga’a Public Institutions following requests for review made by individuals who are affected by those decisions.

The Board is an independent office within the Nisga'a Lisims Government and its role is required as part of the Nisga'a Constitution.
