Blog Watching: Week ending July 17, 2022

Municipal themes dominated when it came to the five most read items of the week with four of the five items that made for city related topics.

The demolition work underway for the new Prince Rupert RCMP detachment featured in two of the stories, one the announcement of the work and the other related to comments from some of the Mayor's Facebook followers when it comes to civic contract awards.

The city's plans for a communication tower on the east side of the city on Crestview generated a fair bit of interest as well, as did our notes on the recent announcement of a new manager for the Prince Rupert Airport at Digby Island.

The week's top five items are rounded out by our look at a new generation of shipping vessels and the plans for Drax Energy to introduce a wind assisted ship to their Asia-North American shipping route.

The top item of the week however focuses on the plans for the new RCMP detachment and some comments from a recent post to the Mayor's Social media stream.
