City of Prince Rupert offers up one stop browsing for municipal election information


With two candidates already in the race for Prince Rupert Mayor, the City of Prince Rupert has provided some background information for those in the community considering a run for elected office in this fall's Municipal elections.

The information page was introduced today by City of Prince Rupert Elections officials and is designed to help inform potential candidates for the Mayor's Race, City Council seats and those seeking School Board Trustee positions.

The page features updated information related to Qualifications for Office, the Nomination process and a list of important dates towards the electoral process. 

The information portal also provides for a number of instructional videos related to the municipal election process.

In the City's social media notice today, the City outlines that the nomination packages will be available for pick up at City Hall after August 2nd, or that one can be emailed to you by reaching out to election@princerupert.ca after the date they are available. 

The Elections officials note that they will providing additional procedural information on the 2022 election through the civic website, social media streams and local newspaper.

Serving as Chief Elections Officer is Corinne Bomben, with the Deputy Elections Officer position to be filled by Rosamaria Miller.
