Chamber of Commerce Podcast project features Blair Mirau as first subject of interest

A new initiative from the Prince Rupert and District Chamber of Commerce launched this week, with the Chamber's Lets' Get Down to Business Podcast hosting its first guest, gaining some insight on business development from Blair Mirau, the CEO of the Gitmaxmak'ay Nisa' Society.

Mr. Mirau sat in with Daphne Thomson, the Chamber President, to go over the scope of both his personal resume and that through his work with the Gitmaxmak'ay Nisga'a Society.

The early focus reviewed some of his educational studies and past experiences that led up to his arrival at the Nisga'a Hall on Third Avenue West, that to step in and lead the growth for their business properties across the city and out in Port Edward.

Mr. Mirau takes the viewer through the strategies in place for the Gitmaxmak'ay Nisga'a Society and outlines how they have continued to grow their business footprint in Prince Rupert and surrounding communities.

He shares some of the lessons he has learned along the way as the Gitmaxmak'ay Society took on established business and expanded on existing ventures.

You can review the forty minute presentation from the Chamber's Video Page on You Tube.

We made note of the Chamber's plans for the Podcast series earlier this month and how they hope the project will provide a strong profile for business in the community.

The Chamber has not, as of yet, outlined what kind of a schedule that they will be delivering future Podcast presentations on and what guests may be on the horizon.

You can learn more about the initiative through the Chamber's Social Media stream.

To see if the podcast is a good vehicle for your business, contact the PRDCC at their email address of rupertchamber@gmail.com, or drop into their offices in the Capital Theatre building.

You can also direct message them through their social media feeds.
