4.8 magnitude quake off Haida Gwaii; No Tsunami Threat indicated

The plates along the Haida Gwaii fault between the Islands 
and Vancouver island rattled once again on Monday

 

There was another shudder along the fault line of Haida Gwaii with a  4.8 magnitude earthquake recorded at 10:46 Monday evening just off the southern tip of the islands.

The epicentre was noted as 297 kilometres South of Prince Rupert

According to the USGS, the temblor had a depth of 10 kilometres.

There was no Tsunami alert generated by the seismic event

It's the latest of what have been a string of similar sized events in the last few months.
