City of Prince Rupert's Permissive Property Tax Exemptions List released for 2024-27


Just days after Prince Rupert City Council received their policy update on the Permissive Tax Exemption program, the City's Finance Office has released the list of properties that Council will consider for Exemption for 2024-2027.

The list released through the City of Prince Rupert website today, notes of 15 Places of Worship and 32 other properties available for review of Council in the weeks ahead.

Most of those other properties are either related to Education, Housing, Cultural or Recreational activities, but a few include facilities such as the Municipal Boat Launch listed under Jim Pattison Limited, or the Public Works Facility listed under a numbered corporation.

The estimated amount of taxation revenue that the City will forgo from the exemptions is noted as $434,546,12.

The largest of the Property Tax Exemptions is listed as that for the Prince Rupert Performing Arts Society which is set at $140,740.45

As we outlined in our notes related to the updated policy from Monday's Council session, Council members are required to adopt the list by October 31st.
