Prince Rupert Port Authority celebrates new vessel for AltaGas shipments

Prince Rupert was represented at a ship naming ceremony in Korea
recently, as the the newest vessels to serve the Port of Prince Rupert
were introduced to the maritime world

Harbour Watchers off of Ridley Island will soon be noticing some new vessels making the AltaGas facility there part of their trans pacific travels, with the LPG carriers Boreal Voyager and Boreal Pioneer soon to be in service.

Built by SK shipping and Hyundai Heavy industries, the two vessels will transit the Canada-Asia corridor, but with a reduce environmental footprint.

Through their Social Media Stream this weekend  the Port provided a snapshot of the two vessels and the reduced emissions that they will release once they are in service following their construction in Korea.

AltaGas currently ships product through the Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal. No timeline was noted over the weekend as to when the vessels will commence service to Prince Rupert.
