Special Prince Rupert City Council session called for Thursday afternoon

The Agenda appears light and doesn't offer many clues as to why Prince Rupert City Council is heading to the Council Chambers this evening for a Special Council session set for a 5 PM start.

That as City Council members have only three items making for the to do list for their work tonight.

When they settle into their chairs, Council members will be set to receive a Report from the Chief Elections Officer confirming the results of the 2018 Municipal election, a correspondence requesting a proclamation for November 20th as Transgender Day of Remembrance in the City of Prince Rupert and a Bylaw amendment procedure.

As the new council membership elected on October 20th has yet to be sworn into office, it will be the Council of 2014-2018 that is in attendance for the Special Session tonight.

Council will also hold a Closed Session on the evening. that session set to start at 4:30, takes place behind the closed doors for the following reason.

90.1 (c) labour relations or other employee relations

You can review the full Agenda Package for the Special Council session from the city's website here.
