Gitga'at First Nation seeks Flag Design

If you're a member of the Gitga'at First Nation and have some thoughts on what the spirit of the Gitga'at people might look like and have an idea as to how to share it with the world, the First Nation's Flag competition committee would like to hear from you.

The Gitga'at First Nation which is centred in the Hartley Bay area has launched a Flag Design competition, seeking to find the symbol of  the community and an image that speaks to the identity and values of the Gitga'at people.

Towards that goal, the Gitga'at are seeking submissions for a Flag Competition, with the successful applicant receiving 2,500 dollars for their design.

Those of Gitga'at descent and who interested in providing a submission are requested to contact the First Nation to learn more information regarding the requirements of the competition, before making a submission.

The deadline for applications November 15th, 2014.

The successful candidate will be announced on or before December 15th, to allow for production planning for the flag to begin by January 1st of 2015.
