NWCC workers ratify contract with College and BC Government

Faculty workers at Northwest Community College represented by BCGEU Local 712 have ratified a new labour agreement, which provides for a five year agreement that will back track to April 1st of this year and expire on March 31st of 2019.

The agreement provides for a wage increase of 5.5 per cent over the five years of the contract, with the potential for additional increases, should the British Columbia economy exceed annual forecasts set by the Economic Forecast Council.

That aspect of the agreement was focus of the Government announcement announcing the new deal between the union and Government negotiators.

No other details on other aspects of the negotiated settlement were released.

The BCGEU website has not updated the bargaining information files on the Northwest Community College negotiations at this point.
