North Coast and Haida Gwaii residents have a new option for hearing needs

It's a sign that some of the health services previously reduced or lost in the city are starting to come back, as Rupert Hearing recently opened its doors to customers at the start of this month.

Prince Rupert's only full time hearing clinic is located in the city's downtown area and provides a much desired local option, for those requiring the services of a Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner.

With the opening of the Rupert Hearing, the need for travel to Terrace, or to await visiting technologists to come to the city has now been eliminated.

Stephanie Curry, who completed the  Hearing Aid Practitioner Program at Edmonton's MacEwan University, has been registered in her profession since 2008.

Ms. Curry grew up in Prince Rupert and has returned to the region to provide hearing services to the North Coast and Haida Gwaii.

To provide that service, she has opened up the city's only full time hearing-clinic, located at the Capital Mall, Suite 201- 515 3rd Avenue West.

Office hours at Rupert Hearing, are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 to 4:30.

Saturday sessions are available by appointment.
