It has long been one of the most celebrated events on the curling calendar and this year the Prince Rupert Curling Club is hosting edition number 68 of the Marine Bonspiel which runs from tonight through to Sunday at the east end House of the Roaring.
Twenty eight rinks are entered in the three day competition set to start at 6 PM this evening, the majority of them from Prince Rupert but with some out of town competitors making the trip to Rupert to try and steal a few ends and maybe the championship.
Saturday night features a Seafood Dinner for the competing rinks, with a Saturday Night Dinner also on the schedule.As well Mucho Gusto Catering will be on hand through the tournament weekend to take care of any food fuel ups prior to the major dinners.
Also helping along with the social themes of the Bonspiel is the the Wheel House Brewing Company with some of their Wheelhouse Gillnetter on Tap for the event.
Fans of the game can drop in anytime this evening or through the day Saturday and Sunday to see which of the 28 rinks progresses to the Final shot for the 2019 Championship.
