The Big Stage of NCAA Basketball beckons for Liam McChesney tonight

The Utah State Aggies begin to play for keeps tonight, as their NCAA season gets underway at home in Logan Utah.

And to launch the campaign the night features a highly anticipated match up as, they prepare to welcome one of their long time rivals in Montana State to their home court at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

The night marks the first regular season experience for Prince Rupert's Liam McChesney, the former CHSS Rainmaker who is about to enter a whole new level of basketball than what he's bee used to in the past.

Being a first year player, he most likely won't be racking up much in the way of lengthy court time just yet; learning the ropes and soaking in the atmosphere of top level competition making for the early mission for the 6 foot ten freshman.

And tonight should be a fascinating ride for him, with the loud and energetic home crowd and a rivalry game that features the third longest running series in Utah State history.

Over the last one hundred and six years, the Aggies have played 118 games against Montana State a competitive spirit that dates back to 1913-14, with the home side tonight boasting a 78-40 record.

In their only exhibition game prior to tonight, the former Rainmaker picked up 2 points on thirteen minutes of play, as the Aggies topped Idaho 103-66 at the end of October.
