Delivered in Smithers; shared with Stewart ... William Ross stakes his claim as the Northwest New Year's Baby

Northern Health maternity wards were busy places over New Years Eve, with three locations providing bouncing babies to Northern BC following the strike of the Midnight hour.

In the Northwest, a baby boy joined the party at 1:01AM, with William Ross announcing his arrival at the Bulkley Valley District Hospital, born to Mom Nikki and  Dad Will of Stewart BC, he weighs in at six pounds, 14 ounces. 

Along with Mom and Dad, sister Avery welcomed him to the world.

William was Northern Health's first baby of the year, lining up with him on the Opening Day for 2019 roster were two other baby announcements.


Dawson Creek introduced Maverick Wells to the North at 3:35, he checks in at seven pounds ten ounces.

Prince George's University Hospital of Northern BC announced the first girl for Northern BC at 7:52, with Nezaya Mack the newest citizen for the city of Prince George, she weighed in at seven pounds 10 ounces.

The first baby born in British Columbia was a boy, who was delivered at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster at just one minute after midnight.
