There's a new face at the helm of Terrace based Hawkair, with word that Jay Dilley has been appointed to the role of President and Accountable Executive, a post he will take up on July 15th.
The position became available at Hawkair after co-founder Rod Hayward announced he was leaving the airline to join the staff of the University of the Fraser Valley.
Mr. Hayward will be teaching aviation business administration at the University, part of the highly regarded Aviation program at the Fraser Valley campus.
His plans for departure put the Board of Directors to work seeking out someone who could provide the same dedication and vision to the airline of the Northwest that Mr. Hayward had offered over his 20 years with Hawkair.
Their selection, Mr. Dilley arrives to Hawkair after a number of positions with a variety of airlines, his most recent position that of Vice President of Business Services for Summit Air.
The details of his appointment and background of the new President were released on July 4th.
Hawkair serves Terrace, Smithers and Prince Rupert in the Northwest, having recently added a number of flights and destinations to the travel options of Northwest residents. The most recent item of note, the introduction of service from Terrace to Calgary by way of Prince George.
