Prince Rupert RCMP confirmed on Wednesday, that a car belonging to missing Prince Rupert resident Adam Moore had been recovered from the Galloway Rapids Bridge area, with a heavy lift crane used through the afternoon to bring the car to the surface and then to the shore.
During the three hour period of time of the recovery operation, Highway 16 had been closed to traffic in both directions and residents requested to stay away from the recovery scene.
During the course of the recovery efforts, the body of a male occupant was discovered by investigators to be in the vehicle.
Identification of the male has not as of yet been publicly released and will not be provided, until the BC Coroners' office releases further details on the incident.
The search for Mr. Moore and his vehicle had been taking place across the Northwest over the last week, he was first reported missing on December 31st.
The search had been centred on the Galloway Rapids Bridge since Sunday, when Terrace Search and Rescue members discovered parts of the black Jetta that he had been driving.

Update: Mr. Moore's family has advised the public, that the BC Coroners office has confirmed that Mr. Moore's body was that which was discovered in the car.
