Another temblor for the fault line of the west coast with a 4.2 quake recorded this morning west of Port Hardy |
Update: the area of the original quake of this morning, has also seen two further similar sized events as the day has progressed, the background on those events can be seen at the bottom of this post.
The Pacific coast fault line running between Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii rattled a little bit this morning, with a 4.2 magnitude earthquake recorded at 10:54 AM, centred 159 kilometres to the West of Port Hardy.
The morning event was listed as being at a depth of 10 kilometres.
No reports have been received from any populated areas as to if the seismic shift had been noted and No Tsunami Warning was generated by the event.
This morning's temblor is one of a number similar sized events that have been recorded in the area over the course of the last few months.
