Street Marking project underway in Prince Rupert

Work is underway to refresh the city's crosswalks and street lines

Those hard to see crosswalks and street lines are getting a makeover, as the Terrace based Yellowhead Pavement Marking take to their work, with today's focus found along a stretch of Sixth Avenue East.

A good portion of the block from Hays Cove to Seal Cove is currently being worked on, with preparation and then painting taking place.

The state of the city's crosswalks and street lines had become a bit of a controversial issue for City Council, with both Councillor Wade Niesh and Barry Cunningham raising the topic a number of times in recent months.

Motorists should travel with caution around the painting zones and take note of the path around the markings and reduce speed.
