The first major tournament of the year for the Prince Rupert Golf Course wrapped up on Victoria Day as fifteen teams of two person pairings took on the challenges of the thirty six holes over two days of play.

And while the long streak of sunshine and warm temperatures had vacated the North Coast by the time the first ball was teed up on Sunday, the wet weather did hold off for much of the two day tournament.

The Top Five Finishes included:

First Place
Josie Lam/Maria Wells  59/58 for a two day net total of 117

Second Place
Evan Deschamp/Bart Kuntz 60/59 for a two day net total 119

Third Place
Ross McNish/Doug Kydd  62/59 for a two day net total of 121

Fourth Place
Trevor Deschamp/Arlen Deschamp  63/60 for a two day net total of 123

Fifth Place
Shane Foreman/Andrew Schaeffer  64/62 for a two day net total of 136

The final placement made for a thrilling comeback through the final day as the Foreman/Schaeffer pairing overtook the duo of Richard Wright and Ron Miller 59/67 to grab the Top Five finish on the weekend.

Next up for the Prince Rupert Golf Course is the Ladies' Jubilee set for the weekend of Saturday June 9th and Sunday June 10th. With a practice round for the tournament to take place on the Friday ahead of it.

Those looking to enter the event can contact the Prince Rupert Golf Course Pro Shop at 250-624-2000 for more details and to get their group in place for June Jubilee.
