You can dine, dance and help out the cause of building more trails around the North Coast as the Prince Rupert Lions Club and Kaien Trails Society get together to present the Bushwacker Dinner and Dance set for June 16 at the Moose Hall.

The night which features the music of Hot Flash and Beer from the Wheelhouse has a twenty dollar admission charge, which includes a first drink, Along with the food, drink and music, the night will feature a 50/50 draw, Door Prizes, Raffle and much more

The Doors open at 6, the Dinner is at 7 the music kicks in at 7:30PM.

Tickets for the event are available at the Argosy, Cowpuccinos and from an Lions member.

Fundraising efforts have also been seen around the community in recent days with ticket sellers found at local shopping locations, offering an opportunity to get a ticket to the Dance or provide for some funding for the trail projects.

The proceeds of the night will be directed towards the work of Kaien Trails as they continue with their list of projects for the region, the most prominent one of the moment the Rushbrook Trail project which is getting closer and closer to an official opening, though no date has been delivered as of yet as to when it will be available for sanctioned use by the public.

With the summer months on the horizon North Coast residents are hopeful
for an official opening to the newly rebuilt Rushbrook Trail

Another plan in the works is the continued renovation of the McClymont Park Trail system which leads from the Civic Centre through to Dry Dock Road on the city's eastern waterfront area.

The city of Prince Rupert was looking to see out grant opportunities for that project, though an update on that quest has not been provided since it was first made public in December of 2017

You can review some of their project planning from the Kaien Trails website and Facebook page.
