New reporter for weekly paper escapes Suburbia for North Coast beat

Having put away his back pack for a while, the latest reporter to take to the news beat in Prince Rupert has introduced himself to the community, offering up a few glimpses of his past and perhaps a snapshot as to where we may see him in the not so far of future.

Nick Laws is the new face corralling passers by for those on the street features for the Northern View, taking over the sports beat from Matthew Allen who has moved over to the news desk for the paper.

Hailing from Whitby, Ontario he relays some of his interests and experiences for the community in his mini bio piece, a few of which the local soccer and softball leagues might want to make note of.

As well, Harbour Theatre and the wider Community theatre collective will also want to take a name for future projects, as Laws has some experience in the world of theatre, something that should guarantee a few Chicken Parmigiana meals as a form of recruitment for future productions ...

His is the second media vacancy filled in the city in recent weeks, with CFTK TV welcoming Brittany Webster as their new TV reporter for Prince Rupert last month.

Since his arrival in late October to grab his share of the office space on Fraser Street, the newest reporter for the paper has already put a few stories to bed.

You can follow his travels around the North Coast through the Northern View's weekly print delivery and online.
