Port Edward Transit Fare changes go into effect today

The ride to Port Edward is going to cost a bit more as of today,
as a new fare structure goes into place for transit users in the District

The first day of May also brings the need to dig a little deeper into your pile of change if you are travelling with Port Edward Transit, with the new rate structure going into effect as of today.

The rates will see travellers to and from the District paying between three and four dollars per ride, depending on how far into Port Edwards that they plan to travel.

The two Zones in the District are divided by the area north of Hillcrest Avenue on Skeena Drive which is known as Zone 1.

Zone 2 applies for those travelling further along the highway to the North Pacific Cannery Historical site.

Among the changes are also some notes related to transfers as transit users switch over from Port Edward to Prince Rupert transit

Transfers will be provided to customers when travelling to and within the Prince Rupert Transit System from route 60 Port Edward

Transfers will no longer be valid when travelling from Prince Rupert to Port Edward on route 60 Port Edward

DayPasses will now only be valid in Prince Rupert local routes and will no longer be valid on route 60 Port Edward.
