Neptune Inn zoning to go to Public Hearing May 13th

The fate of the Neptune Inn and plans to return it to use as a hotel/restaurant
will be the subject of a Public Hearing at City Council on May 13th

The process of taking the property of the Neptune Inn on Chamberlin Street back to commercial use is one step closer, that after City Council members heard some background on the proposed plans to return the site to accommodation and restaurant.

The review of the history of the Neptune location came from the City's Planner Zeno Krekic, who made not of its previous use as a hotel/restaurant before the city rezoned the land in order to accommodate plans towards re-purposing the building to that of a seniors residence.

Those plans however fell through, with the property sold to James and Corinne Warburton, they own another property in the downtown area that they have turned into residences and  the would appear to have similar plans to return the Neptune site to that of a short term residence facility.

As part of his commentary on those plans, Mr. Krekic noted that the couple had hosted a public information session at the Lester Centre last month, which had found no opposition from those in attendance to their plans.

From their work on the file of Monday, City Council voted to move the process forward to a Public Hearing in Council Chambers prior to the May 13th Regular Council Session.
