There are Pot Holes and then there's this subterranean cavern under Highway 16

Look Down ... Look Way, way down!
A rather concerning hole in the road along
Highway 16 was spotted today
(From Facebook)

A sharp eyed traveller between Terrace and Prince Rupert  took note of a strange hole along Highway 16 on the Prince Rupert side of Exchamsiks and his pictorial account of the surface road and the large chasm underneath it has gone viral across Social media.

The video and photo presentation originally posted to the Highway 16 Road Conditions Facebook page, also gained some momentum on the What's Up Prince Rupert Facebook page

And between the photographers work and some calls from the public the reviewed his work, it's since been reported that the Ministry of Highways has sent a crew to the site to address the situation.

Also alerted to the Highway infrastructure concerns list was the City of Prince Rupert, which noted they too had contacted the Ministry on the issue and reminded the public of the Drive BC reporting mechanism for any other highway hazards that travellers may come across.

You can access the Report a Highway Problem portal here.
