As the holiday period gets underway, you may have noticed that the ubiquitous Salvation Army Kettle campaign was conspicuous in its absence around the local BC Liquor Store.
That wasn't by choice, but rather by edict, with the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch having previously denied the community organization with access to its locations across the province this year.
A move that had many in the province concerned about the impact that the ban would have on the annual Christmas campaign.
The Grinch that stole the Christmas kettle however had a change of heart, the decision reversed yesterday after an apparent nudge from the Provincial government provided a bit guidance towards the return.

That clears the way for the local Salvation Army in Prince Rupert to set up in front of the BC Liquor Store location at McBride And Second Avenue West, providing they can find the staffing for such.
As we noted in November, the Christmas Appeal Campaign was launched at the end of last month, with a tentative schedule of Kettle locations noted as WalMart and Canada Safeway.
