City Council Session for Monday features changing times, cancelled Committee of the Whole

The only City Council session for September will be moving the clock ahead on Monday, with a number of announcements released on Thursday from City Hall towards the upcoming session.

Among them, a shift for the Regular Council session which will now take place two hours earlier than usual moving from it's traditional 7PM start time to 5 PM.

Which would mean that civic minded residents with an inclination to participate in,  or take in the Council session will have to delay any dinner plans should they wish to make their way down to City Hall for the evening of civic governance.

With that CLOSED Session for this coming Monday, also getting a time shift, moving to earlier in the afternoon.

The Regular and Closed sessions fared better than the Committee of the Whole element of the monthly program, that session was cancelled completely for September.

In their notices and social media advisories, City Hall officials provided no explanation as to why the sessions were shifted or cancelled.

The September11th session is the last gathering for Council before they take to their annual UBCM road trip, that gathering of municipal and provincial officials takes place in Vancouver the week of September 18th-22nd.

City Council will move from its more leisurely summer schedule in October, returning to twice a month sessions for October and November, with one final session to finish off the year in December.
