Terrace and Williams Lake set for CIHL Finals Showdown following weekend play

A hockey season that started in September of last year is getting closer to the finish line, with  the Central Interior Hockey League is now down to just two teams and is set to showcase the start of the league finals next weekend.


The Terrace River Kings will take on the Williams Lake Stampeders in Game One of the Best of Three Finals this coming Saturday, March 9th 

That after a hard fought three game series with the Hazelton Wolverines, the River Kings claiming their series with a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon.

The Eastern Semi Final saw the Stampeders take their series with Quesnel 2 games to none. The Stampeders bringing to an end the hopes for a league championship repeat for the Kangaroos in 2023-24.

The Finals launches Saturday in Terrace owing to ice availability at the Sportsplex,  so despite a first place finish the River Kings will have to look to clinch the title on the Cariboo ice surface the weekend of the 16th.

Whether they head to Williams Lake with a 1-0 lead or deficit in the quest for the Cameron Kerr Memorial trophy will be determined this coming Saturday with the Terrace puck drop set for 7PM on the 9th.


The Prince Rupert Rampage were eliminated from further playoff action back on February 17th when the Wolverines clinched the series in two straight games.
