As the city moves forward with any number of upcoming infrastructure projects to address the deficits of a 100 plus year old municipality, the call out has been issued for some help in the engineering/public works department.

A new job opportunity has been posted to the city's website this week, seeking the services of an Engineering technologist, with primary duties to provide surveying and computer drafting services to the Operations Department.

Among some of the duties, the position will find the successful candidate working on the inspection of ongoing public infrastructure construction, assisting in administration and providing direction  to developers, contractors and suppliers.

This years recently delivered Annual Report provides a snap shot of some of the Engineering work of the last year and what continues to be the focus for the Department for 2018.

The deadline for applicants is July 6th, with submissions to be directed to the Human Resources Department at City Hall.

The full time union position is part of the CUPE agreement with the City, the full range of qualifications as well as additional skills and abilities required can be reviewed below.
