City Council Preview: Monday, June 25 2018

Prince Rupert City Council comes together tonight
with a  rather light Agenda for their final meeting for June

The last of the twice a month meetings for the next two months takes place tonight, as Prince Rupert City Council brings their June workload to a conclusion with this evening's Session.

Following tonight's meeting Council moves into its summer schedule with only one meeting per month in July and August leading up to the October municipal election of October 20th.

For this evening a range of reports await Council members, with notes related to the proposed BC Housing project on Park Avenue, a variance request on 1st Avenue West and recommendation to approve the Annual Report and adopt the Elections Voting procedures and Vote Counting system for this years municipal election in October.

The Committee of the Whole process  opens the evening's public portion of the night, taking place just before the Regular Council session.

Council Members will also meet in a Closed Session at 5 PM:

With Council choosing to close the doors for the following criteria: 90.1 ((k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.
