Terrace RCMP shut down pot production locations

A Thursday night operation by members of the Terrace detachment of the RCMP has taken closed to 68,000 dollars worth of dried marijuana out of circulation, a volume that they estimate could have produced more than 20,000 joints.

The Terrace RCMP acting on a tip from the public executed two search warrants on two properties around 6 PM on Thursday evening, serving the warrants on a property located near Thornhill Street and on Old Lakelse Lake Drive.

As part of the operation, police seized 723 plants in various stages of growth and 15 pound of dried
marijuana, they also seized processing and growing equipment as well as chemicals related to the production.

One man was arrested on drug related offences, he was later released on a Promise to Appear.
