Cold snap takes a toll on some of the city's water infrastructure

City Crews were busy hop scotching across the city this week attending to
a number of water related issue, with two of the larger repair jobs
taking place on Fifth West and Eight East

A week of cold weather apparently hasn't mixed well with some of Prince Rupert's aging waterlines with City crews dispatched to a number of locations through the week to attend to reports of leaks and other issues.

The City had opportunity to make use of its mobile alert program to let residents and motorists know of two of the larger issues of the week, issuing advisories on Wednesday and Thursday calling attention to issues on Fifth Avenue West  and on Eighth Avenue East.

Work crews will be glad to hear that the current snap of cold weather is about to abate, with the forecast ahead over the next seven days for much warmer conditions and a significant amount of precipitation to accompany those warming temperatures.
