Prince Rupert Transit users can ride late into the night for the holidays

Christmas Shoppers, Secret Santa's and holiday party goers are all getting a helping hand from Prince Rupert Transit this holiday season, with BC Transit and the City of Prince Rupert announcing the return of extended transit service for the next two weeks.

Starting on December 10th until the 21st,  with the exception of Saturday and Sundays, the Transit system will be operating on the Friday schedule, with buses running into the evening on all of the city's conventional routes.

The departures out of the downtown core will be at 7:15, 8:15 and 9:15 PM

You can review the schedules for all four of the regular Prince Rupert routes here.

More details on the extended service can be found here.

The Port Edward Transit system operates a late night bus service through the year with the last departure from Downtown Prince Rupert at 10:10 PM

More notes on the Port Edward service can be found here.

As we outlined yesterday, BC Transit will also be hosting the Annual Stuff the Bus campaign in Prince Rupert this weekend, providing residents with a chance to donate food, clothing or cash towards the Salvation Army Holiday programs.

The bus will be staged at the Canada Safeway parking lot from 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturday to accept donations.
