Rampage return to ice with Saturday match with Kitimat

A two week hiatus comes to an end on Saturday night, as the Prince Rupert Rampage return to CIHL action, ready to welcome the Kitimat Ice Demons to the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.

The Rampage will be looking to return to the win column as they face off against Kitimat, prior to their fourteen days off, the team had come up on the short end of some competitive games in the Cariboo, a pair of losses that helped to propel the two Cariboo teams towards the top spots of the CIHL, leaving the Rampage to rest in the middle of the pack over their time off.

Despite the lack of action, the Rampage aren't that far off the pace of the two leaders their six wins in the bank giving them twelve points on the season, but two behind Quesnel and four away from reclaiming first place from the Stampeders.

The Rampage face off against a Kitimat team that is going to be hungry for a win, having found frustration from the season so far. The Ice Demons have struggled on offence with only 17 goals to show for their work so far this season, while having surrendered 77 in nine games.

Chomping at the bit for the Rampage to get back to the scoring pace will be Judd Repole, who is currently tied at number six in overall scoring this season, just off his pace are Cole Atchison, Tyler Ostrom and Jared Meers who all hold spots in the top ten scoring rankings heading into Saturday night.

Saturday night also gives Prince Rupert residents a chance to lend a  hand to the Salvation Army with the annual Teddy Bear Toss taking part as part of tomorrow night's game time presentation.

Sunday afternoon, the Rampage are back on the ice, though in a more relaxed environment as they host the Annual Skate with the Rampage. With members of the team on hand to sign autographs, take part in photos and enjoy some of the fun planned for the Civic Centre Ice from 4 to 5:15.

Admission to the Sunday event is by donation to the Salvation Army Food Bank.

You can learn more about the weekend for the Rampage from their Facebook page.
