5.2 And 5.6 quakes recorded off coast of Port Hardy

A pair of earthquakes have been recorded off the coast 
of Vancouver Island west of Port Hardy this morning

Two moderate quakes have been recorded along the BC coastline, with an area of the Pacific just off the coast at Port Hardy the location of the 5.2 temblor which struck at 10:44 this morning.

That seismic event has been followed by a 5.6 event at 11:13 AM

The epicentre of the quakes was 166 kilometres West of Port Hardy at a depth of 10 kilometres, it is in an area that has seen a number of similar sized seismic events in the last year.



No Tsunami threat was expected from the events of today that have struck to this point.



So far there have been no reports of any damage or indication that it was even noticed in the Port Hardy or Port Alice areas.
