The final number crunching is done and once again Prince Rupert residents have responded to the call, with the recent Jingle Boat Express bringing in $1,145 for the Salvation Army's holiday programs.
The proceeds come from the December 4th sailing of the Jingle Boat Express which saw a number of the city's youngsters set sail with Santa aboard the Adventure Tours vessel MV Inside Passage.
As we outlined on the 4th, the vessel made four journeys on the day taking holiday revellers towards Tuck Inlet before returning to the Atlin Terminal dock. As part of the hour of fun on the water, the youngsters received some Christmas swag courtesy of a number of local businesses that helped out the Jingle Boat Express organizers.
The project was a partnership with the Prince Rupert Port Authority, North Coast Literacy and Northern Savings Credit Union all working to bring the popular event to the Prince Rupert waterfront.
The Port outlined the success of the day through a social media post on Tuesday.
