Blog Watching: Week ending December 8, 2019
Prince Rupert was the city of Festivals this week, with no shortage of things to do as the weekend arrived.
Leading the way were the two big events of Rogers Hometown Hockey's arrival in the city and the annual Winterfest underway on Friday night, our notes on both served to attract the largest of our audiences of the last seven days
Also finding some good audience reaction were a pair of municipal government themes, one a look at the different ways that Prince Rupert and Victoria have handled salary increases for politicians this year, while our notes on the upcoming redesign rupert presentation also found a strong audience on the week
Wrapping up the list of five was our look at the first trek to the Lower Mainland for the Senior Boys Rainmakers basketball team who have been taking part in the No Regrets tourney in North Vancouver
However, the most read story of the week, put the spotlight on the reception for Rogers Hometown Hockey and their visit to Prince Rupert.
Let Prince Rupert's Carnival of Hockey begin! As Hometown Hockey prepares for Saturday opening -- The Rogers Hometown Hockey caravan began arriving in town on Tuesday and as the week moved forward and the Civic Centre was transformed into Hockey Heaven the event captured the imagination of the community, Along the way a bit of parking advice from the City of Prince Rupert highlighted the footprint of the event; one which also put the CIHL and hometown Rupert Rampage into the middle of the weekend showcase. Twenty four hours to tip off for Senior Boys Rainmakers at No Regrets Tournament -- The 2019-20 basketball season is already in motion, with the Senior Boys of Charles Hays having made their first trip to the Lower mainland for the year, taking part in the No Regrets tournament on Vancouver's North Shore (posted December 4, 2019)
