It's one of the biggest days of the year for Prince Rupert's main employer and the engine that drives the North Coast, if not the Northwest economy, with the Prince Rupert Port Authority set to host its Annual Public Meeting at 5PM tonight at the Crest Hotel.

The Annual review of performance and planning for the Port provides a glimpse into the impact that the PRPA and its partners have on the local economy and serves as an update session for the community on some of the Big projects under construction or in the planning stages.

The event tonight marks the first APM  since our challenging times of COVID to be hosted in front of a crowd, with the Port having issued their public invitations a few weeks ago to share their enthusiasm for more normal times.

As they make the final preparations for this evenings presentation in the BC Room of the Crest, the Port has provided for some advance reading, with the 2021 Financial Statements and Consolidated Annual Report available for viewing here.

You can follow the Port's Social Media streams for any notes in the lead ups to the event.

As well the Port website will have items of note on the APM following the presentations of the evening.

Some of our past notes through the year on port themes can be explored here.
