Stairs with a message!

Foot travellers around Prince Rupert will have something to think about as they make the incline on some of the city's staircases in the next few weeks.

The first of message making staircases was created over the weekend, with the stairs leading from McBride to 7th Avenue east getting a new look with Every Child Matters the message

The project was part of a combined effort from Transition Prince Rupert, the Friendship House in Prince Rupert and a range of helpers towards its creation.

The project comes during the Anniversary period of the Kamloops Residential School graves discoveries of one year ago and just ahead of National Indigenous Day which takes place tomorrow.

This coming Saturday, a staircase project is set to be taken on by Transition Prince Rupert, which has plans for the Staircase behind Save On Foods leading from Fraser Street up to Borden Street.

Transition Prince Rupert outlined their plans through Social Media last week, providing some details on the plans for a Rainbow staircase to take shape as part of the June 25th painting party.

You can follow their Social Media page for any updates on the plans as the week moves forward.
