Saturday response from Port Edward Fire Rescue makes quick work of structure fire in the District

Firefighters in Port Edward had a busy Saturday, with members of the Port Edward Volunteer Fire/Rescue department called on for a response to a structure fire in the 700 block of Sunset Drive.

The call to the Fire Department went in just before 5 PM with Firefighters responding by 5:02 PM,  the crew of two apparatus and six fire fighters took an aggressive attack on the fire and were able to spread the blaze from spreading to neighbouring properties.

The fire was deemed under control by 6:30 PM, with crews monitoring the hot spots from the fire until late into the evening.
