Our notes from both the Pre Council period and those following the Monday night Council gathering captured a fair bit of attention as the week moved forward.
All five spot in our list of the Five most read items reflected interest in the work of Prince Rupert City Council this week.
Among the items that appear to have caught the eye of our readers:
The city's ongoing plans to shift their base of Operations from Wantage Road to the MacCarthy GM site in the Yellowhead centre area. A project which saw a spike in the cost of renovations outlined in a report to Council this week.
Other areas of interest from the Monday night Meeting, Council's review of plans for a new Civic flag, new ideas for parking in the Cow Bay Area and an update on the status of review of the 4th Avenue Walkway/Staircase.
The theme of Permissive Tax Exemptions also made for some civic news this week, first through an update to the policy and then the release of the list of exemptions for 2024-27.
The top story of the week however, revisits a topic that always captures some interest when explored, that of the path ahead towards a new Civic Operations site at Portage and Saskatoon.
