Heavy Lift Day on the Cow Bay Road

Some waterfront activity along Cow Bay Road below Mariner's Park this morning saw the roadway closed for portions of the day, that as some heavy lifting was taking place to place materials and containers on a property along the waterfront side of the roadway.

Both the Prince Rupert Port Authority and the City of Prince Rupert had issued advisories to the work, noting of the road closure.

We were rather late to the party for the actual lifting, with the work all but wrapped up by just after 1PM.

Not long after the Norhtland walls came down, a Coming Attractions Sign of sorts heralded the prospect of future development.

The same site today

On occasion the NCR has dropped a line to the Port to see if anything was up yet, usually to be advised nothing to share yet, not quite ready to share.

We've sent off another email, to see if there's any news to share on the future use following today's activity on Cow Bay Road. We'll advise if anything comes of the request and if finally the location is set for its new purpose.

More notes on Port related themes can be reviewed here.
