Another in a string of earthquakes in the 4.5 to 5 magnitude range was recorded off Port Hardy late Friday night |
While not as dramatic as the 7.0 quake of earlier in the day in Anchorage, British Columbia had its own seismic event on Friday as a 4.7 temblor was recorded off of Vancouver Island just after 11:30 PM.
Located 156 kilometres West/Southwest of Port Hardy it was located in much the same area as a string of similar sized seismic events in recent months.
Friday's quake had a depth of 10 kilometres.

As for this mornings major earthquake in Anchorage, since the 7.2 shaker shortly after 8:30 AM Alaska time, the community has received over 170 after shocks with six of them recorded at 5.0 or more.
