Blog Watching: Week ending September 24, 2016

Transportation tops the list of most read items of the week, with regional airline Hawkair announcing another schedule reduction in the Northwest.

Also on the most read list, our look at the comments from Port Edward as officials offered up a clarification from their view on the terms of the recently announced Service agreement with the City of Prince Rupert.

Dr. Frank Pyde was on the minds of many who attended Saturday nights CIHL exhibition game at the Civic Centre, as the Prince Rupert Rampage hosted the Terrace River Kings and celebrated the life of the late dentist who had an important impact on hockey across the region.

School District 52 provided some talking points from their first School Board Council meeting of the year, but one topic didn't seem to make it to the discussion phase, with no word released on when or if there will be a by-election to fill a seat which has been vacant for almost one year.

Housing issues made a major theme for the week and North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice took the message of concern from the North Coast to the Provincial Housing Minister with a letter to Rich Coleman.

The top story of the week which attracted the most attention however highlights another change in the transportation options in the region, as Hawkair reduces its schedule of flights once again.
