North Coast Transition Society hosts AGM Thursday

The Annual review of developments from the North Coast Transition Society will take place this Thursday as the Society hosts its Annual General Meeting at 7 PM in the BC Room of the Crest Hotel.

The AGM provides the opportunity for the Transition Society to highlight some of the new additions to their services and programs offered in the region and outline what some of their plans for the future may be.

The Society which offers a range of services and programs for women, men and children survivors will also put out the call for more community involvement on Thursday, looking for motivated community individuals who have an interest in joining their Board of Directors.

Those that may have some interest in becoming involved at the Board level can learn more about what is required by contacting the Society at aancts@citywest.ca, you can also gain more information by calling 250-627-8959 extension 20

Perhaps best known for its work through the Ravens Keep Transition House, which offers safe emergency shelter on a 24 hour, seven day a week basis, the Transition Society has recently taken on the challenging task of working on the issue of housing in Prince Rupert through its Housing Outreach program.

That outreach is but one of a number of vital programs that those living across the North Coast can access through the Prince Rupert office.

You can learn more about the work of the Transition Society from their website, or Facebook page which provides background on may of their programs that are available in the community.
